Whatsapp , the name is enough for the smartphone users. “See you on WA” “Haven’t you have WA yet?” “SMS? Nope,WA me ” At least once in a day,we all come across these talks. Whatsapp has become a trending topic for smartphone users because it is smart,simple,user-friendly and above all- it’s free!
Whatsapp is developed by two geeks who were formerly working for Yahoo! It started in 2009 currently it has approximately 20 million users worldwide. It is not a bad start.
I’m using it,every week there is an increase in my contacts which starts using whatsapp, it shows that it is steadily growing. Now,in India,the SMS Forwarding culture is disappearing, thanks to whatsapp. Indians are becoming wise.
This cross-platform service is a better option than eBuddy and other such third party messengers. Reasons are simple: Whatsapp is stable,light,simple to use,time-saving,secure.
The increasing use of Whatsapp in smartphone users is seen as a death-bell for SMS service providers,but it is not the case in fact because service providers are profiting from the internet packs which are essential to run the Whatsapp like internet-based services.
There was a time when SMS was the most accepted texting medium but in recent past, the smartphones and android markets have given a tough competition to SMSs.
If you ask someone to enlist the potential reason for using Whatsapp, the answer will be “There are no text-delivery issues such as those in SMSs.”
